Dr Voula Theophilou holds the degree Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Liverpool (BDS Liverpool) and a postgraduate degree, Fellowship in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians in Glasgow (FDSRCPS Glasg). She has worked in general practice in the UK, and has held several posts in British University Dental Teaching hospitals and general hospitals as a House Officer and  Senior house Officer:

These include the  Department of Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery at the University of Leeds Dental Hospital (H.O), Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital (S.H.O) , Departments of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at Bristol Dental Hospital (S.H.O), Clinical Assistant in Orthodontics at Cheltenham General Hospital, Department of Paedodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital (S.H.O), Senior Dental Officer in Special Needs Dentistry for Enfield and Harringey Health Authorities , and  Clinical Assistant in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at St George's Hospital in London. She moved to Switzerland  in 2008 to work in  private practice in Lausanne and Geneva, and currently shares her time between her practice at Carrefour de Rive 1 with Dr Mastrocola, Orthodontist, and private practice in Nyon.

She has attended many  courses as part of her  continuing professional development, most recently  in 2010 when she completed a one year certificate course in Cosmetic Dentistry in London, and became a certified Oralift ('The Dental Facelift') practitioner.
